Optimal sludge dewatering for the process water

The pulp and paper industries generate large amounts of process water which forms the by-product sludge during purification. During this bio-treatment, two types of sludge can be formed, fiber sludge and biological sludge.

When adding polymer solution with sewage sludge, the particles flocculate. This leads to a separation of water and reduced sludge volume. In order to achieve a high dry content (TS content), it is important that the polymer make-up unit prepares polymer solution which has the greatest possible efficiency.

Thanks to Tomal’s efficient and batch wise polymer process, intended for the preparation of both dry polymer (powder) and wet polymer (emulsion), a high-quality polymer solution is achieved. This results in low polymer consumption and low cost.
